What is Front-end Web Development?

Topics: Front-end Web Development, Programming, Software

Transcript Summary: Front-end Web Development and other programming topics are discussed. Front-end web development consists of websites and applications using web technologies such as HTML, CSS, DOM and Javascript which run on the Open Web Platform or act as an input for non-web platform environments. The presenter discusses the basics of Front-end web development and the programming essentials that come with it.

Front-end Web development is built out of JavaScript and CSS and everything a user can see and interact with. This also comes with another programming topic which is called HTML (HyperText Markup Language), which defines the structures of the website; for example, a user wants to display information, navigation, and the footer has a site index. All of those pieces of information are defined by the structures and JavaScript. Animations and any actions are also handled by JavaScript and CSS (Cascading Style Sheet). Adding all this information will help a developer build a simple static website.
