RFID Based Attendance System

Introduction:

This video by Electronics Hub displays a proposed RFID-based attendance system. Each individual student would be issued and assigned an RFID tag that contains information about them. There are two types of RFID tags: passive and active. The tags that would be used in this system are passive tags. The tags will each have a number, and when the tag is placed near the reader in the classrooms, the reader will automatically read the tag number. The code is given to the controller, and accurate attendance is taken and recorded. The video then walks through a simulation that demonstrates assigning the tag. The tag number being entered into the system and the system automatically reading the number and marking the person as present in the system is shown next. The system also indicates the details of the person. The simulation then enters a second card number and shows that this second person is also marked as present. If any unknown person tries to swipe their card (an unauthenticated card), the system outputs, “card not matched. unknown person” and will not take the attendance of the unknown person.
